Strange Things We Do...

Autumn has arrived and I get the shorts out - its not that I'm completely strange - just that I prefer wearing shorts and tights. Lets be honest I'd look odder wearing tights and shorts in the Summer.

A Step...

In my quest to try something new... this morning I drove in boots! 

Yep, after over 3 years wearing trusty Superga's (i.e the same amount of time I've had my driving licence) I decided to brave 'new starts' by wearing my IM boots and yepsters I can drive in them! Literally (they are boots) its one step at a time for me but each step gets me closer - to what I don't know but hey - isn't it all about the journey...

So, is it the weather, the fact the (online - I don't get out too much) stores are full of autumn/winter or the fact (dare I say it) I'm over summer... But I'm feeling rather autumnal!

In fact today I bought a mohair cardi-coat (think Isabel Marant but at £15!) - thanks RSPCA (and the person who donated it!).

Detox Day 2...

 

Day 2 of the Rapid Cleanse Detox and week 5 of the summer holidays (and yep I look how I feel - exhausted!). I have high hopes (and I'm considering praying) that the detox will recharge my batteries and get me back on track for the next 3 weeks... To be fair starting a detox on the day that I have my Botox redone does seem to be an oxymoron...but hey, I might be tired but at least I can't frown about it!

Sunday, Funday...

Wow! The clothes cull continues and as fabulous as it feels its pretty exhausting! I've bags of stuff to give back the charity shops, bags for friends and already unexpected house guests have had a good haul (real people not mice etc...). So on with the scruffs on and out to walk Jasper & Sugar (our mini schnauzers) before more Funday Sunday sort outs!

Sunday Shopping...

In days gone by Sundays would have disappeared in a blur (sometimes literally) and at other times in a haze of sleep, hangover and Sunday vintage market shopping.
These days we can fit in - play park, animal park, swimming, walking Jasper & Sugar and still have time for a wee spot of shopping! Hence our photos at Hub (menswear) in Church Street...

The summer holidays have officially started and bliss! No driving in the morning rush hour traffic (of which I am a statistic that adds to it!), sunshine and crafty fun at home!

Summer Fun (Fun, Fun)...

Bizarrely (or so some people may feel) as the end of term approaches I'm looking forward to spending time with Mushroom. I have collated an assortment of craft stuff, projects and fun stuff to do (all of which can and will be found on Pocketees). Armed with a few close friends the summer is going to be fun, fun, fun!
And not all for Mushroom I have some fab craft projects for myself as well!

It occurred to me today just how much I hide behind what I wear. The more difficult the times, the bigger the sunglasses and the higher the heels! but there in lies a wee problem, I can't drive in heels and there fore end up on the 'school run' wearing beaten up sneakers. Not a problem but as 'the school gate' situation terrifies me (everyone seem so fabulous, so in control!) that I shuffle! So do I change my shoes to walk the 500 yards, continue to do what looks like the 'dodgy mum shuffle' or just get a grip?! 

Enough said - I'll get a grip! (writing anything down is so therapeutic - or just plain old scary to see how bonkers I sound!)
