The First in Years...

... In fact - quite frankly a first 'full stop'.

A crop top.

I must have bought it at the start of the season - i.e. winter...

... And if I throw my head back and get in touch with the memory - I remember buying it to wear over bias cut dresses - i.e. nothing showing...

...But with the aid of my new exercise confidence - and - or - the bang on my head I wore it naked - you know what I mean!

Jewels...

Bizarrely (if I'm feeling a lack of confidence) or rather sweetly I am lucky enough to get invites to shop launches, info on new products but if I'm really honest - I don't always get time to read them and if I'm really, really honest being rather shy - I never go...

However sometimes stuff catches my eye - especially if its from nice people or if its local...

And so I got an email re a shop launch here in east London, I checked it out (online!) and I love it!!!

So whilst I'm deciding what I want / how much I can afford to purchase - I thought I'd do a few wee sketches as to create a short list...

High Waisted and Patches...

Intially they made me feel old, mixed feelings...

'Mom-jeans' scary!

'Patches' 70s throw back to being a kid...

But.

They've kept nagging at me and either I'm worn down by them or just maybe I've had a change of heart...

I like them.

A New Year...

I love New Year, I also love the start of a new month, the start of a fresh week, the start of a fresh day...

A new beginning.

So for 2014, the start of The New Year I am going to...

Ok - I need to think but hey I have 3 days - but I'm thinking Paris, Parisian style, a trip to Paris...

My Wish List...

Every season I love a particular designer or brand - I've gone through Isabel Marant, Zenzo, Westwood shoes (that was an expensive one!) and now Emma Cook.

There's not one piece I don't love! So rather than stack the Christmas wish list up with item after item (and look very greedy) I'm just happy to suggest Emma Cook (any piece please!)...

House of Hackney x ASOS x Tartan

It's chilly beans outside and nothing's more guaranteed to cheer me up than a dash of red lipstick and a touch of tartan... Which is my I'm so grateful for the launch of House of Hackney x ASOS.

1. Tartan

2. Collaboration at a tad more than normal affordable prices...

3. Velvet

4. I live in Hackney...

Christmas Catalogues...

I normally have a rule - no Christmas thoughts before my birthday (which is at the end of the week) but 'Christmas dread' has hit me - that - and an onslaught of Christmas catalogues... Including the rather favourite Cartier brochure (catalogue and Cartier don't really sound like they go together...).

Grumpy (but I know it)...

In less than two weeks I turn 40. I've always told people 'its just a number!'...

Two weeks previously I had a breast enlargement. I read / researched / armed myself with all the info and thought I 'had it covered!'...

Mmm.... Well I don't want to turn 40 - I don't like it and the boobs... Even after everything I read - after 6 days - you'll hate them, after 6 weeks - you'll like them and after 6 months - you'll love them... What I didn't think about was two weeks of no sleep due to the discomfort (not pain - not horrible pain but hideous discomfort).

So to say that I'm grumpy is an understatement and broke - because believe me the only thing to do when you can't sleep night after lonely night is shop!

I might not be able to try on the clothes (hyper sensitivity - thank you!) but boy do I have some rather fab new clothes (let's hope they fit...).

Tigers...

Ok so I really want the Kenzo sweatshirt / t-shirt, however 2 obstacles... firstly the price tag and secondly even if I wanted it enough to pay for it - you've got to get getting your hands on one!
Basically they are sold out prior to delivery.
However its funny once your eyes are open to something i.e 'the tiger' it can be found...

Tiger T-shirt - RSPCA Charity Shop (Stoke Newington) £4
Mohair Cardigan - Sick (Red Church St), Jeans - J Brand, Sneakers - Superga

And just to show off - I also found this one, two days later at Mind Charity Shop - Church Street for the sum price of £8! So yes! if you fancy the Kenzo sweatshirt and you can get your hands on one, go for it! Otherwise just check out those local charity shops... you never know...
