The Bandwagon...

...I didn't mean to jump on the pink bandwagon, in fact I may have even been over heard critisising it *hangs head shamefully* but I'm over autumn / winter / feeling chilly / dark colours and I want something light / springy / a contrast to the black and that's where pale pink steps in...

And regarding my love of dungarees can we also lose the chill and turn up the heat. Dungarees and layers can be time consuming... *say no more.

They've kept nagging at me and either I'm worn down by them or just maybe I've had a change of heart...

Today was #reflection and it made me think as I looked at my own reflection - this jogging bottom business (and not with heels!) has to stop. What would be ideal reflection be...

Last days of Summer...

I love Summer but my favourite part is the last few days of Summer (not that I'm wishing it away). The light is stunning, its warm but not uncomfortable heat and just perfect for people watching from the front steps...

Tattoo - lessons learnt...

So the day after 'the tattoo' - regrets no! but did I learn a lesson - yes...

And, the lesson is such - after a huge adrenaline rush, a slightly even greater chocolate (sugar - to keep my strength up...) rush it is best to consider that the next day you might feel a little despondent and that another chocolate bar the next day (or something with sugar) will help.

I didn't know / consider / research this and there fore this morning 'hit the deck' literally passing out for a wee second...
Thankfully Mushroom slept through it...
Jasper was too busy stalking the foxes and there fore it just left wee Sugar to stay with me (thank goodness for the mini schnauzer!)...

Oh! and the secret stash of Fab ice lollies in the freezer! Sugar levels restored and back to our hair appointment and play-dates.

The Tattoo...

The tattoo is done.

After a drama over child care, broken boilers, leaky extensions and a case of nerves (mixed in with a huge case of excitement!).

It took an hour, after the initial sensation I zoned off to into what can only be described as a very relaxing experience...

Lets be honest, I had an hour without dogs barking, kids screaming, people asking questions, alarms beeping, boilers failing... A mild scratching sensation and my own thoughts was actually very peaceful.

And finally - am I happy with the end result - beyond! I love it!

Lollibop Dungarees...

Today we went to Lollibop - a kids festival amongst other mental, tiring, crazy stuff. After unpacking the car, bundling everything and one in the house I found my ASOS parcel. Ripping it open I found what I was after - the 'I'm not wearing my pjs but I might as well be' dungarees...
Ok so not the most flattering, not the most tailored or ladylike outfit BUT so comfy!! Just what I need after today...

4 weeks into the summer holidays and the sun is shinning, we have made several trips to the zoo and met with friends. So far it's fabulous!

Hair now lighter and new tattoo booked in! Roll on hitting 40, just need to double check 'hitting 40 bucket list'... Brain engages - did I ever make one...

New Season Start...

 

I'm not one for getting too excited about the post but at the start of a new season as the mail order and 'buy me, buy me' catalogues arrive I gain a lust for out with the old and in with the new. A renewed excitement for my wardrobe.

So this season before opening the magazines I have decided to have a harsh cull (and as it turns out much needed!). I invited a friend (print designer) over to see if there might be anything of use. Shortly after arriving she asked 'when did you last do this?' As I was thinking when it was, I asked if I should throw a top out or whether it was worth keeping... The reply was 'rather dated - throw'.

Previously I would throw out, bag and go back through but this comment stung (I know there was no malice intended - good friends can and should be able to be honest) but this time I have thown and baged - and - I feel great!

Now all I have to do is drop it all round the charity shop and open those new magazines - oh! And make a quick cuppa!

The need for Shade(s)...

As Saturday approaches (another Pink Piggy Party - this time a picnic), the onslaught of kids (and parents) again terrifies me and so hence the sunglasses... Early starts (organising), disasters (baking) and enjoyment (making the piggy tees for the goody (going home) bags has resulted and the need for the sunglasses (bags of tiredness!)...

From Cold to Hot...

Friday morning and its over cast and I'm literally wearing 3 layers (yes, I know it said it might be decent weather - but my faith in the weather has evaporated...) by the afternoon I've thrown caution to the wind and I'm shoeless!

Holiday - A week later...

So a week after our holiday and what we are we left with... Actually, as exhausting as holidays can be (especially with kids!) we have come home and a week later we are still utilising our holiday - Mushroom is insisting on a siesta after school! and I am now nearly two weeks into giving up refined sugar! I'm no saint and my reasons were as follows -
Adult acne (Hormones / chin)
Wrinkles (I'm not shallow...)
But as hard as it is (It is!) and I can't see how it can get better, I am happy to say that the acne has made a marked improvment and although the wrinkles are still there (the ones not ousted by Botox) I have had some great comments about how well I look!
Now if I could just fit a siesta in...
