... After perusing the internet, flicking through magazines and generally (given the weather) assessing the weather (cold / wet August?!) I started looking at all the faux fur.

All low and behold within the same week I find this super cute, over sized comfort blanket (aka coat)...

...I can't help it. I'm not at school any more (clearly) however, having a child means when they start a new term I can't help but get that new term feeling.

So back to photographing myself and documenting (i.e. shaming myself into not wearing a tracksuit) begins again...

Monday, Funday...

 

 

... As a stay at home mum coming towards the end of the holidays I'm not feeling so fun... I want structure! I want nursery to start again (I only feel a tad bad saying that).

It's very easy to lose structure when you are your own boss. It's easy to fall into sloppy ways. I actually miss nursery not because the kids go back but because its a reason to be up and out, a reason to think a tad more about my wardrobe, a reason to start a list (I do love a list!).

And, in advance of the 'school gate' and my resolution not to wear sneakers everyday, I've invested (sales) in some Toga Pulla shoe-boots (new school term, new shoes...)...

The School Gate...

As Mushroom and I stand at the school gate I feel ok - sounds odd? but actually its taken me 4 weeks into the third term to realise that everyone waiting outside the gate feels awkward at times (if not for 2 terms and 3 weeks like me!). I know I stand out, I intrigue people, I don't conform but I'm ok with that - for today...

Today, Tumbles & Man Get Out...

So today (as I take a deep breath) was spent between the doctors and the x-ray department of the Homerton hospital...
After Mushroom took a tumble (or in fact a sliding sideways skid) at our local charity shop yesterday (at the time - all was ok I hasten to add). Anyway as the day drew to a close he was unable to put his full weight on his foot... And this morning - the same problem.

Our doctors is awesome! they squeezed him in,  printed us a form and sent us on our way to the local x-ray department.

Hell on earth sums up the experience and only the bribery of visiting a friend at his awesome Reservoir Dogs Day Care (huge recommendation - its like home from home for Jasper & Sugar but actually cooler than our home...) got us through it (that - and the fact that when I burst into tears at the hospital they finally helped me... making a chicken out of a blue latex glove).

Anyway I think the day is nearly over. Mushroom still can't walk properly and me... well like I said my day is nearly over!

Tomorrow I'm getting a new tattoo! I'm swinging between 'yay!!!!!!!' (Excitement) and 'omg' (Freakin!). I heard that if you eat chocolate before hand it curbs the pain - that and then excessive adhrenaline rush...

Stripes...

 

So, is it the weather, the fact the (online - I don't get out too much) stores are full of autumn/winter or the fact (dare I say it) I'm over summer... But I'm feeling rather autumnal!

In fact today I bought a mohair cardi-coat (think Isabel Marant but at £15!) - thanks RSPCA (and the person who donated it!).

Sunday, Funday...

Wow! The clothes cull continues and as fabulous as it feels its pretty exhausting! I've bags of stuff to give back the charity shops, bags for friends and already unexpected house guests have had a good haul (real people not mice etc...). So on with the scruffs on and out to walk Jasper & Sugar (our mini schnauzers) before more Funday Sunday sort outs!

I'm thinking about a trip to the zoo...

As the summer holidays approached I considered options to keep both Mushroom and I busy, occupied, happy and having fun. One thing that kept coming up was a zoo membership.
So I investigated - 20% if you joined by direct debit... and hence joined. And - we have broken even on cost v's trips!
