... After perusing the internet, flicking through magazines and generally (given the weather) assessing the weather (cold / wet August?!) I started looking at all the faux fur.

All low and behold within the same week I find this super cute, over sized comfort blanket (aka coat)...

...So only a few months ago I found myself in a conversation about dungarees. Without too much thought I found myself saying - yep true, I'm 40 they aren't for me...

Summer Fun / Coat Shopping...

...So its Summer and I'm holding an umbrella not a parasol and last night I felt rather silly assessing the Autumn / Winter coat selection online...

...and now, I feel rather justified.

I Love School Holidays...

...And I mean that.

But.

Once, on a return trip to school from a half term - I mentioned how tired I actually was to another parent and received this response...
'didn't you know your holiday is during school term time and within school hours'.

To be honest it passed through one ear and to the other (I was truly tired) but on reflection with reference to my wardrobe - its true.

Where as normally I can run in heels, get jobs done, catch up on emails, interview tenants and generally 'get by'...

..Summer holidays - no chance.

I am running - literally in Nike Frees...

Playdates / food / more playdates / more food / even more food / the odd bath / summer holiday fun!

I wouldn't have it any other way!

... In fact - quite frankly a first 'full stop'.

I must have bought it at the start of the season - i.e. winter...

... And if I throw my head back and get in touch with the memory - I remember buying it to wear over bias cut dresses - i.e. nothing showing...

...But with the aid of my new exercise confidence - and - or - the bang on my head I wore it naked - you know what I mean!

Lucy Choi Addiction...

... For the last three-ish seasons I've hoovered up the Lucy Choi London collections and dare i say it but obviously I was getting it right as they are just about to launch on Net-a-Porter...

A Rekindled Love Affair...

 

...I have a box full of pashminas / scarves / souvenirs of such ilk from trips.

For a while I wouldn't be seen without one but then like many things the love affair ended...

Until now.

How could I have forgotten the lost art (ok - uses) of the large scarf aka pashmina...

Namely wrapping a small sickly child up on a flight home.

And. To be fair it's a flight back from ibiza and most people look rather tired (the spoils of a sunny fun holiday)!

The Arizona Birkenstock...

 

... and it's many uses...

The quest was initially just to be able to find a pair to purchase! Who knew (not me) that this would be sooooooo hard.

Then getting the size right - I had thought I was a 38, nope I'm a 37 - silly me!

And then after all that they are used as sand / play accessories at the beach... *sigh
