I Love School Holidays...

...And I mean that.

But.

Once, on a return trip to school from a half term - I mentioned how tired I actually was to another parent and received this response...
'didn't you know your holiday is during school term time and within school hours'.

To be honest it passed through one ear and to the other (I was truly tired) but on reflection with reference to my wardrobe - its true.

Where as normally I can run in heels, get jobs done, catch up on emails, interview tenants and generally 'get by'...

..Summer holidays - no chance.

I am running - literally in Nike Frees...

Playdates / food / more playdates / more food / even more food / the odd bath / summer holiday fun!

I wouldn't have it any other way!

This Is What Mild Concussion Looks Like...

...so it goes like this...

original tattoo - not entirely happy...

busy day, new tattoo place recommended...

phone call, appointment to assess what needs changing re tattoo...

arrive, can do there and then...

go for it...

faint...

fall backwards and knock myself out cold...

come round, complete work...

home...

photograph...

go slightly bonkers...

a&e...

home...

On reflection, looking at the photograph I do look slightly more confused than normal...

...addictive - yep.

I started off with three stars,

Then I added a hummingbird and a heart ( full length of inner arm)

And now...

I'm booked in for three hours! For a piece based on a necklace and dream catcher...

Nervous - hell yes!

Worth it - absolutely.

Tattoo - lessons learnt...

So the day after 'the tattoo' - regrets no! but did I learn a lesson - yes...

And, the lesson is such - after a huge adrenaline rush, a slightly even greater chocolate (sugar - to keep my strength up...) rush it is best to consider that the next day you might feel a little despondent and that another chocolate bar the next day (or something with sugar) will help.

I didn't know / consider / research this and there fore this morning 'hit the deck' literally passing out for a wee second...
Thankfully Mushroom slept through it...
Jasper was too busy stalking the foxes and there fore it just left wee Sugar to stay with me (thank goodness for the mini schnauzer!)...

Oh! and the secret stash of Fab ice lollies in the freezer! Sugar levels restored and back to our hair appointment and play-dates.

The Tattoo...

The tattoo is done.

After a drama over child care, broken boilers, leaky extensions and a case of nerves (mixed in with a huge case of excitement!).

It took an hour, after the initial sensation I zoned off to into what can only be described as a very relaxing experience...

Lets be honest, I had an hour without dogs barking, kids screaming, people asking questions, alarms beeping, boilers failing... A mild scratching sensation and my own thoughts was actually very peaceful.

And finally - am I happy with the end result - beyond! I love it!

The day before...

 

Tomorrow I'm getting a new tattoo! I'm swinging between 'yay!!!!!!!' (Excitement) and 'omg' (Freakin!). I heard that if you eat chocolate before hand it curbs the pain - that and then excessive adhrenaline rush...
