Approaching 40...

At the start of the year - I thought this is the year I'll be 40 and it didn't bother me, or so I thought...

Intinally I thought big party - yay!! But then I started to to think, I started to take stock of where I was (metaphorically) and actually I wasn't as happy I thought and...in different ways than I'd ever have expected.

There fore in the last month I have topped up my Botox, filled in the (smokers - that's the actual known name whether you smoked or not - dad!) lines and in 2 days time I get my hair highlighted and in 4 days get new (actually some) boobs. So for someone who thought they were pretty much ok with their lot when I sat and took the time to think - actaully I wasn't quite so.

I have also had another tattoo (and planning a new one to be unveiled in the summer), thought about my 'professional' future, made new friends, startd to draw again but mostly and rather selfishly I've done stuff for myself (which isn't a bad thing, it's not really selfish and sometimes it's just what we need to do).

Pink... Matching...

Mushroom never feels the cold, always running around sans jumper or coat. So as I rush out of the house (bag of treats, water, snacks, wipes and loose change in hand) I didn't think to grab him a sweatshirt...

#fail

We get to Primrose Hill for my appointment (a five min catch up on the face) and he utters the words 'I'm cold!

What!?!?! It's Primrose Hill - home of all things fabulous, including a kids shop...

We came home in matching colours...

Will his love of pink ever end... (mine obviously never did).

Holiday - A week later...

So a week after our holiday and what we are we left with... Actually, as exhausting as holidays can be (especially with kids!) we have come home and a week later we are still utilising our holiday - Mushroom is insisting on a siesta after school! and I am now nearly two weeks into giving up refined sugar! I'm no saint and my reasons were as follows -
Adult acne (Hormones / chin)
Wrinkles (I'm not shallow...)
But as hard as it is (It is!) and I can't see how it can get better, I am happy to say that the acne has made a marked improvment and although the wrinkles are still there (the ones not ousted by Botox) I have had some great comments about how well I look!
Now if I could just fit a siesta in...
