Pink... Matching...

 

Mushroom never feels the cold, always running around sans jumper or coat. So as I rush out of the house (bag of treats, water, snacks, wipes and loose change in hand) I didn't think to grab him a sweatshirt...

We get to Primrose Hill for my appointment (a five min catch up on the face) and he utters the words 'I'm cold!

What!?!?! It's Primrose Hill - home of all things fabulous, including a kids shop...

We came home in matching colours...

Will his love of pink ever end... (mine obviously never did).

Quick Change (into) Ben & Holly...

The plan...
Was silk kaftan (new charity shop purchase, washed and ready to wear), liquorice & fresh mint tea plus a new and ready to read copy of Vogue.
Reality was Ben & Holly at the Hackney Empire...

It occurred to me today just how much I hide behind what I wear. The more difficult the times, the bigger the sunglasses and the higher the heels! but there in lies a wee problem, I can't drive in heels and there fore end up on the 'school run' wearing beaten up sneakers. Not a problem but as 'the school gate' situation terrifies me (everyone seem so fabulous, so in control!) that I shuffle! So do I change my shoes to walk the 500 yards, continue to do what looks like the 'dodgy mum shuffle' or just get a grip?! 

Enough said - I'll get a grip! (writing anything down is so therapeutic - or just plain old scary to see how bonkers I sound!)

The need for Shade(s)...

As Saturday approaches (another Pink Piggy Party - this time a picnic), the onslaught of kids (and parents) again terrifies me and so hence the sunglasses... Early starts (organising), disasters (baking) and enjoyment (making the piggy tees for the goody (going home) bags has resulted and the need for the sunglasses (bags of tiredness!)...

Dressing in Stripes...

The Cornwall holiday morning had arrived! No-one was packed or ready... so each to our own, we dressed and packed (I, obviously packing for Mushroom).
Breakfasted, we nipped out to give Jasper and Sugar a wee walk before the long and arduous journey (why does it always take us a full day to travel anywhere we go - NY, Italy, Cornwall...).

Anyway,

A woman shouts to us 'stripes in fashion then?'
I think 'something I probably shouldn't think or write' and then for some reason look at us (probably for the first time in the day)...

Each one of us dressed in a stripy top!

From Cold to Hot...

Friday morning and its over cast and I'm literally wearing 3 layers (yes, I know it said it might be decent weather - but my faith in the weather has evaporated...) by the afternoon I've thrown caution to the wind and I'm shoeless!
