Roaring Success...

... I waited weeks for these jeans! Literally waiting for the second delivery to hit the store and boom! they were mine and I am over the moon - boring as it maybe - I love jeans, I love skinny jeans, I dislike jeans that 'bag' - but these are great! the recovery in the stretch is awesome, they are as soft as butter and as comfortable as my favourite track pants (well almost...).

Winter Coat...

I'm not giving up, no way but all suggestions welcome...

The search for a Winter coat is on. So far I have ordered, payed for, had delivered (I rarely leave East London) several dozen Winter coats and so far - too big, too small, too swampy (its a word!), too flimsy, too delicate and some too cold!!

And sent them all - back!

The only coat so far  that has worked is the Topman parka that I bought again this year (last years survived one winter of child 'stuff' and dog walking and then gave up on me - ripped, torn and tattered) and this year its gone one better! it has a detachable lining! So thats Autumn and Winter covered (literally) in one! but not kind-a-smart...

First Day Excitement...

And so the school gate beckoned - my days of school are well and truly over - or so I thought... and then I realised that as a mum - no they weren't! 

Even though it wasn't our first day at the school or even my first day, I still felt the nerves. So as the school doors got closer Mushroom started to rub his tummy - 'you ok?' I asked...

'Tummy ache' was the reply.

I thought on my feet (and quickly) there were two ways to tackle this situation - 

a. I could have said 'nerves, baby but'll be fine / ok / great.'

or

b. 'Oh babes! thats excitement!' which is exactly what I did. 

The rational behind this, is that fear and excitement are easily mistake at times for each other. I don't want him to not do things for fear - I want Mushroom to do things because they are exciting. I want (and I say want) him to live his life to the fullest, to take enjoyment from every opportunity, to see good, fun and exciting times in everything that is presented his way.

Fear will at times raise its head and yes we will deal with it but as the book says 'Feel the fear and do it anyway!'

Clothing Sizes...

Did I suddenly get bigger or did American Apparels clothing get smaller... either way clothing thoughts aside I can honestly say that the guys that work at the Curtain Road branch are fabulous!

With a trashed receipt (helped by the aid of throwing it in the bin with tea bags...) I was able to exchange my minuscule items. I was there fore able to leave with a child wearing one of their fluro pink t-shirts (thinking that he wasn't paying as he was wearing it - I did pay!!) and a heap of stuff that actually was wearable for someone over who has hit 'the teenage years and over'...

A day of ideas, potential opportunities, park play dates, a rare (but short) time to think and some good (and needed) laughter.

Turn ups...

4 weeks into the summer holidays and the sun is shinning, we have made several trips to the zoo and met with friends. So far it's fabulous!

Hair now lighter and new tattoo booked in! Roll on hitting 40, just need to double check 'hitting 40 bucket list'... Brain engages - did I ever make one...

Sunday, Funday...

Wow! The clothes cull continues and as fabulous as it feels its pretty exhausting! I've bags of stuff to give back the charity shops, bags for friends and already unexpected house guests have had a good haul (real people not mice etc...). So on with the scruffs on and out to walk Jasper & Sugar (our mini schnauzers) before more Funday Sunday sort outs!

The day that was but wasn't...

I spent the day in silent panic, the wisdom tooth day (i.e it was coming out!). However on arrival at said dentist - my discomfort v's the fact the tooth was not an easy job (involving cutting it in two and removing in two parts - plus sedation...) meant they sent me back on my way to reconsider - maybe I'll leave it a while longer (as is)...

N.b outfit basically resembles PJ's - on a day like this comfort, is the order of the day!

Summer Fun (Fun, Fun)...

Bizarrely (or so some people may feel) as the end of term approaches I'm looking forward to spending time with Mushroom. I have collated an assortment of craft stuff, projects and fun stuff to do (all of which can and will be found on Pocketees). Armed with a few close friends the summer is going to be fun, fun, fun!
And not all for Mushroom I have some fab craft projects for myself as well!
